WELCOME TO UK PLC … managed by

ROBBERS, THIEVES & PIRATES

And all immune from prosecution

Oh, dear, oh dear, oh dear. The panic of the retail sector every damned Yuletide… “Figures are down on last year” etc. etc., and other such tearful drivel dropping into the champagne flutes. And so, annually, it comes to pass that the great British Public step out, cash in hand, and do what capitalism wants them to do; spend, spend, spend. And is there an easier, handier or more welcome present in an entertainment-dominated marketplace than a good old HMV voucher?
HMV's TREVOR MOORE : LISTEN UP - I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
So the massive wads of hard-earned workers’ money is handed over HMVs counters and stuffed into the packed tills throughout the UK. Yet it transpires that this is one of the biggest robberies, an act of utter fiscal criminality, since the Great Train Robbery. Did HMV boss Trevor Moore actually know over Christmas that those vouchers were simply non-repayable loans made by the public to his ailing outfit? Very probably. But it doesn’t matter whose money it is, as long as the suits can get their grasping hands on it all. The banks have proved this. But you try to get away with claiming and extra £10 per week on your Disability or Unemployment Benefit and see what happens. A team of State-funded spies will track you down, take you to court and give you a criminal record. Will Mr. Moore and his Board get criminal records for stealing my £20? Of course not. Will Cameron and Osborne be outraged? No. Because the law of this land states that only the poor, the lower orders, can be fiscal criminals. Above and beyond us, you can steal what you like and laugh.

In December, HMV warned that trading was so poor that it was in danger of breaching its bank loan agreements. The company's two main bank lenders are Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group.

On January 15th the two banks said: "The banking group led by RBS and Lloyds Banking Group have provided significant support to HMV over the past two years, as it has sought to reshape and restructure its business in the face of extremely difficult trading conditions. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of management, lenders and suppliers, it has not proven possible to avoid a formal insolvency process."

So, that’s OK then. Bob Diamond, Rebecca Brookes and all the other unctuous, overpaid buccaneers can walk away with the millions provided by taxpayers and consumers and bask in the sunshine. This system is sick, yet nowhere is there a voice or a character with the guts and capability to speak out and alter it. These people despise and hate us, and laugh in our faces. Whatever it is we did to them, they think that their behaviour is acceptable. As Albert Camus observed:

“Let us call it by the name which, for lack of any other nobility, will at least give the nobility of truth, and let us recognise it for what it essentially is: a revenge.”  That’s something pirates, thieves and robbers thoroughly understand.
